TRANSFORMERS 'WAR DAWN'

A piece Ive done in homage to the original G1 cartoon episode of the same title in which the Airelbots are teleported by the Decepticons nine million years back in time to Cybertron's "golden age". There they meet the young dock-worker Orion Pax and his girlfriend Ariel, the future Optimus Prime and Elita-One. The Airelbots rush the mortally wounded Pax to Alpha Trion after a brief skirmish with Megatron during one of his early energy raids. The dock worker later emerges, rebuilt as a war-machine named Optimus who quickly re-engages Megatron and reveals his new battle hardened reconfiguration as he cuts down Megatron's forces with ease and then staves off the Decepticon leader himself. The Airelbots meanwhile are later teleported back to their own time after one final bout with the Decepticons, where Optimus realizes that it was they who in part made him the mech we all know and love. This piece was inspired by the promotion poster for X-Men Apocalypse although since a human skull is much too small, and I could not think of a mech or femme head to place in his hand, I decided to use an Energon cube which is mos appropriate given that the Cons ceaselessly gutted energon installations on Cybertron.
